  • About Membership Types

    Individual GTA/MUTA Membership - Annual Dues $50

Educator Members can request an unlimited number of Individual Memberships to be offered to people associated with their organization (e.g. working GTAs and MUTAs). All Individual Memberships must be submitted by an Educator Member, and their membership is subject to the good standing of that Educator Member’s organization or company with the IGMA board.

Once approved, Individual Members are responsible for submitting their dues directly to IGMA, unless their sponsoring Educator Member has made arrangements with IGMA to cover the dues fee for those Individual Members.

Individual Members are entitled to all membership benefits of IGMA, including being able to sit on any committees and participate as a board member.

Individual members may not solicit work from Educational or Corporate Members. If they are solicited for work by Educational or Corporate Members they must refer those people to their own sponsoring Educational Member. Any acceptance of work outside of their relationship with their sponsoring Educational Member will be considered an unethical violation of their membership in IGMA and will constitute grounds for immediate revocation of membership with no refund of membership dues.

Educator Membership - Annual Dues $125

There are three types of people who can qualify for this level of membership:

    1. Owners and directors of independent GTA/MUTA educational and training organizations/companies. All such educational organizations/companies need to be approved by the IGMA board to be recognized for this level of membership; approval may be reviewed on an annual basis by the IGMA board.

    2. Program directors at medical schools, medical institutions, educational institutions, government institutions, any educational facility or organization offering programs to medical learners of any kind (including residents) that may require the use of GTAs and MUTAs.

    3. Program directors at any other institution deemed appropriate by the IGMA board to qualify for membership in this category. All qualifying institutions are subject to qualification review on an annual basis by the IGMA board.

Membership in this category will include one (1) individual. There is no limit to the number of Educator Memberships associated with any organization, provided each Educator Member is currently working at the organization or company, as recognized by the IGMA board.

Educator Members are entitled to all membership benefits of IGMA, including being able to sit on any committees and participate as a board member.

Educator Members may solicit another Educator Member regarding work, if they are seeking GTAs/MUTAs, consultation or training. They may also solicit Corporate Members for work.

Educator Members must never solicit Individual Members for work. This would constitute an unethical breach of member policy and would be grounds for immediate termination of membership with no refund of membership dues.

Corporate Level Membership - Annual Dues $300

There are 3 types of people who qualify for Corporate Membership:

    1. Anyone working at a corporation that is involved in the manufacture/distribution of goods or services directly related to GTA/MUTA teaching programs. This may include companies that produce: specula, lube, condoms, demonstrators, gowns, GYN tables, exam tables in general, clinical skills lab room equipment of any kind, drapes, pillows, stools, etc.

    2. Anyone working at a corporation that is involved in the construction and management of clinical skills labs for any institution mentioned in the institutional membership category.

    3. Anyone working at any other corporation deemed appropriate by the IGMA board to qualify for membership in this category. All qualifying corporations are subject to qualification review on an annual basis by the IGMA board.

Membership in this category will include one (1) individual who can participate in IGMA on behalf of their company. Memberships beyond one (1) designated Corporate Member will be subject to review by the IGMA board and subject to an additional membership fee.

Corporate Members are entitled to all membership benefits of IGMA, including being able to sit on any committees and participate as a board member.

Corporate Members may solicit for work from Educator Members, and vice versa, but must never solicit Individual Members for work. This would constitute an unethical breach of member policy and would be grounds for immediate termination of membership with no refund of membership dues.

  • You will be asked for payment of dues when your registration is complete. International GTA/MUTA reserves the right to refund any membership dues to an applicant that does not meet their qualifications.
